Stan McDonald's Blue Horizon Jazz Band introduced classic jazz to the Sherborn Inn in 1995.  Unlike many "Dixieland" bands, the Blue Horizon blends the unaffected spontaneity of early New Orleans jazz with a variety of tightly arranged passages and solos spanning the classic periods of American traditional jazz music to early swing.  Band members Stan McDonald, soprano sax and clarinet, Jeff Stout trumpet, Gerry Gagnon trombone, Ross Petot piano, Peter Gerler guitar, Al Ehrenfreid string bass, Dave Bragdon drums, dig to the roots of jazz and present a varied and succulent musical repast, fulfilling their motto: The Future of the Music with a Past. $10.
