Jazz Floats
7 nights at sea aboard the M/S Norwegian Star, leaving from New Orleans,
includes Grammy nominated pianist Judy Carmichael, one of the leading interpreters of stride piano and swing. Count Basie even nicknamed her
'Stride'. She is now in her 20th year of producing her own public radio show
'Judy Carmichael's Jazz Inspired'. So who can accompany this spectacular lady? What constitutes the perfect tenor saxophonist? The technique of Stan Getz, Al Cohn's ideas and Zoot's timing? That ideal may well be embodied in 38 year old
Harry Allen. Joining them will be the sensational; jazz guitarist Chris Flory.
Although Chris has a long history with Benny Goodman and Scott Hamilton, he
and Judy go back to 1986. This trio will bowl you over! See more at

Street, (inters. of Rts. 16 & 27) Sherborn, MA. Stan McDonald's
Blue Horizon Jazz Band introduced classic jazz to the Sherborn

a variety of tightly arranged passages and solos spanning the
classic periods of American traditional jazz music to early
swing. Band members Stan
McDonald, soprano sax and clarinet,
Jeff Stout trumpet, Gerry Gagnon
trombone, Ross Petot piano, Peter Gerler guitar, Al Ehrenfreid
string bass, Dave Bragdon drums, dig to the roots of jazz
and present a varied and succulent musical repast, fulfilling
their motto: The Future of the Music with a Past.
