(inters. of Rts. 16 & 27) Sherborn, MA Reservations accepted
(508) 655-9521. $10 Boston's own Riverboat Stompers are exciting proponents of New Orleans Jazz. They’re a no-holds-barred crew of foot-stomping devil-take-the-hindmost Katy-bar-the-door lease-breakers.
The instrumentation often includes but is by no means limited to
trumpet, trombone, clarinet, piano, drums, tuba, banjo, and
sometimes fire siren, Klaxon horn, kazoos, etc. The Stompers play the familiar Dixieland oeuvre, expanded with a sprinkling of tongue-in-cheek tender love songs, hand-clapping gospel and stirring patriotic warhorses. |

The Bo & Bill Winiker quartet play a cool brand of jazz that was conceived on the west coast of the United States in the mid 1950s and early 60s, created by artists such as Chet Baker, Stan Getz, and Gerry Mulligan. It is the antithesis of the wild and furious style of jazz that was being played on the east coast at the time, with its light and melodic style and smooth hypnotic drum beat. The west coast style of jazz is driving but subtle and tasteful—it is toe tapping jazz. This is an evening to make a jazz lover out of skeptics!

the Sherborn Inn senior lunch program that includes a complete 3-course lunch
and outstanding entertainment for $25 complete!! The Black Eagles are not merely revivalists, nor do they simply try to recreate verbatim the classics of yesteryear. Each of the seven group members has a strong musical personality which can be expressed either individually or as one voice of the rich and varied ensemble choruses the Black Eagles are famous for... this enables the band to treat songs from the 1920s with new insights, always keeping the music fresh.
