Benny's Balladiers
appeared at the Sherborn Inn, 33 N. Main St. Sherborn MA.
They are a swing group in
the style of small jazz groups of the 30's and 40's, loosely based
on Benny Goodman's small group with guitarist Charlie Christian,
with John Clark reeds, Phil Person trumpet, Eric Baldwin guitar,
Al Ehrenfreid, acoustic bass, Steve Taddeo drums,
Their book also included selections not
commonly associated with Benny Goodman, like Wholly Cats, Six
Appeal, Till Tom Special, Waiting for Benny, Grand Slam,
and more. This all star band gives each of those gems their
own touch. |
