Jeff & Joel’s House Party has changed dates to October 13, 14 and 15, 2017. Folks suggested changing from Columbus Day Weekend and JJHP listened.
NO INCREASE IN TICKET PRICING.   As in past JJHP weekends, single sessions will go on sale after July 1 and Friday night will be $40 per person with Saturday and Sunday sessions remaining $80 per person.

4 Fri 8pm Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue and Rhianna Giddens at Tennis International Hall of Fame at the Newport Casino, Newport RI. All tickets go on sale Wednesday February 1 at 10:00 am EST. This is a reserved seating event and tickets sell out quickly. There is an eight ticket limit per household.
Also, don’t miss the Pre-Concert Cocktail Party on the Horseshoe Piazza. The party starts at 6:30 pm and includes open bar, music and hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are limited and exclusively for concertgoers. This is a separately ticketed event, and will also go on sale on Wednesday February 1 at 10:00 am EST. 14 Mon 7:30pm 13th Annual Provincetown Jazz Festival — Ken Peplowski and Atla & Matt DeChamplain make their Provincetown Jazz Festival debuts at the Cotuit Center for the Arts. 4404 Route 28, Cotuit, Cape Cod, MA.  Atla DeChamplain (vocals) and Matt DeChamplain (piano) will open the concert and they have a love for jazz which brought them together. Accompanied by Ron Ormsby on bass and Bart Weisman on drums. 
Ken Peplowski “is arguably the greatest living jazz clarinetist” says Russell Davies, BBC2. He has recorded approximately 50 CDs as a soloist, and close to 400 as a sideman and some of the many artists he has performed/recorded with include Mel Torme, Rosemary Clooney, Peggy Lee, Woody Allen, Benny Goodman, and Madonna.  He will be accompanied by Matt DeChamplain on piano, Ron Ormsby on bass, and Bart Weisman on drums.

In the Berkshires, clarinetist Paul Green, co-director of “A Summer Celebration of Jewish Music,” joins together with community leader Shirley Edgerton’s Youth Alive dancers for a performance that merges traditional Jewish music with hip-hop. NAACP Berkshire Chapter President Dennis Powell introduces the collaborative performance, which includes a drum corps of young boys from Pittsfield, vocalist Wanda Houston, students from Congregation Knesset Israel, and Dr. Eli Newberger — a local pediatrician and tuba virtuoso. Following the event, a reception will be held for all community groups at one of MASS MoCA’s outdoor performance spaces.

Tickets to all performances held in the galleries are free with gallery admission. Gallery admission is $18 for adults, $16 for veterans and seniors, $12 for students, $8 for children 6 to 16, and free for children 5 and under. Members are admitted free year-round.

26-27 Wolverine Jazz Band,  Isles of Shoals Steamship Company, 315 Market Street in Portsmouth NH. 5th Annual Gatsby on the Isles,  a 1920s bash on the high seas, featuring live music by the Wolverine Jazz Band, lawn games, and a picnic on the Isles of Shoals. Join us for just the day or spend the night on the island for an evening of dancing at the historic hotel. Proceeds benefit the nonprofit Star Island Corporation. It’s a summer jaunt guaranteed to be the bee’s knees. For overnight registration, click here.  Our party will gather at 10am on Saturday, August 26 at 315 Market Street in Portsmouth (the Isles of Shoals Steamship Company). Overnight guests will depart for the mainland on Sunday August 27 at 3pm and arriving at 4:45 pm.
